Praised by Vladimir Jurowski as a “highly gifted soloist with a very beautiful tone, an assured technique in connection with intelligent musicianship and real passion and dedication”, Emmanuella Reiter enjoys a varied and international career.

An enthusiastic chamber musician, she has been a member of prizewinning string quartets and has performed with internationally renowned artists such as Frans Helmerson, Roger Tapping, Ida Haendel, Peter Frankl, Marie-Pierre Langlamet and Jean Sulem.

As a concerto soloist she has performed with orchestras in England, Italy, France and the USA. She has recorded for Centaur, Arsis, Hessischer Rundfunk, Jigsaw Live, Terezin Music Anthology and has appeared on Boston’s WGBH classical music radio.

In 2008 Emmanuella founded the highly successful Jigsaw Players’ Concert Series, offering high calibre chamber music and jazz concerts as well as educational projects in Wimbledon and around the borough of Merton. 

An experienced orchestral player, Emmanuella has performed with most major London orchestras (London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, English National Opera, English Chamber Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra). After over eight years as member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, in 2017 she joined the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

For over three years, Emmanuella served as Teaching Assistant to Kim Kashkashian in the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She later held the position of Visiting Viola Tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire and has been a guest at the Royal Academy of Music in both the Junior and Senior Departments and at the Roya; College of Music. She has been invited to give Master classes in the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the Eastman School of Music and the New England Conservatory. She held the position of Viola and Chamber Music Professor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance from 2013-2020.

Ms. Reiter’s passion for teaching led her to publish a book entitled Karen Tuttle's Heritage: the Theory and Practice of Co-ordination. The book expounds a technique developed by the late Karen Tuttle, a former pupil and assistant of William Primrose, of helping to prevent and overcome playing-related injury, as well as dealing with issues of expression, gesture and sonority on the viola.

Born into a family of musicians in Jerusalem, Emmanuella began her musical studies at an early age with her father. After lessons in violin and piano at the Conservatoire National de Region de Nice, France, she entered the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, USA. In January 2001, on discovering her passion for the viola, she entered the class of Kim Kashkashian at the New England Conservatory in Boston. There she received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees.

Membre titulaire du Royal Opera House, Covent Garden à Londres depuis Janvier 2017, Emmanuella Reiter mène  parallèlement une carrière de pédagogue passionnée et de concertiste recherchée.

Nommée Professeur d’alto et de musique de chambre au Conservatoire Supérieur « Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance » à  Londres en 2013,  elle a été l’assistante de Kim KashkashianauNew England Conservatory à Boston, USA, puis professeur au Birmingham Conservatoire en Angleterre.

Elle est l’auteur de l’ouvrageKaren Tuttle’s Heritage : the Theory and Practice of Co-ordination, où elle défend l’importance d’une conscience corporelle dans la performance artistique.

Musicienne de chambre recherchée, Emmanuella Reiter a créé et  dirige la série de concerts « Jigsaw Players » qui propose des concerts de musique de chambre et de jazz de haut niveau ainsi que des projets pédagogiques à Wimbledonen Angleterre. Cette série est décrite par Vladimir Jurowski comme «une part essentielle de lavie culturelle de Wimbledon». Elle est également membre du trio Lejeune fondé en 2015.

En tant que soliste, Emmanuella s’est produite en Angleterre, Italie, France et USA. Elle a fait de nombreux enregistrements pour des compagnies telles queCentaur, Arsis, Hessischer Rundfunk, Jigsaw Live et Terezin Music Anthology.

 Née dans une famille de musiciens à Jérusalem , Emmanuella a étudié tout d’abord le violon et le piano avant de poursuivre ses études aux Etats-Unis et découvrir sa passion pour l’alto.  Elle est titulaire d’un Bachelor et Masterdu New England Conservatory à Boston qu’elle a brillamment obtenu dans la classe de Kim Kashkashian.

Entre 2008 et 2017 Emmanuella fut membre titulaire à l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Londres.
